Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- ability to follow instructions and procedures
- physically able to carry supplies, bend, and reach
- punctual and able to work independently at a fast pace
- willingness to work nights, weekends, and occasional holidays
- pass pre-employment background check including employment verification, criminal history check, and drug screen
- comply with all Department of Transportation drug and alcohol testing regulations
- no positive marijuana test regardless of local laws
- provide written consent for prior drug and alcohol testing records
- comply with federal security screening requirements for public transportation employees
Job Qualifications
- Familiar with cleaning products and supplies both commercial and residential
- working knowledge of cleaning standards and procedures
- excellent oral and written communication skills
- knowledge of The Cleaning Industry Management Standards is preferred
- knowledge of Green Seal Cleaning Standards is preferred
Job Duties
- Follow all Amtrak policies, standards and procedures
- physically carry supplies, bend, and reach as needed
- report supply shortages to supervisor
- report maintenance issues to conductor or train attendant
- stock own cleaning kit
- make announcements as specified
- clean bathrooms including using cleaning products, empty waste bins, remove debris, sweep and mop floors, replenish soap and toilet paper, clean toilets and sinks
- clean rest of the car including emptying waste bins, removing trash from the floor and seats, wiping spilled liquids on seats, mop wet vestibule areas
