Job Requirements
- Educated and currently certified/licensed in the state of employment as a Paramedic, EMT-Basic, EMT-Advanced, Registered Nurse, Licensed Practical Nurse or Licensed Vocational Nurse
- Current CPR certification required
- High school diploma
- Ability to perform physical activities such as standing and sitting for 2 to 4 hours, bending, twisting neck, frequent hand and foot movement
- Ability to lift light weights up to 15 lbs with occasional heavier lifting up to 50 lbs
- Good hearing acuity, color perception, near and far vision correctable
- Ability to communicate clearly and understand spoken information
- Capable of working independently and following oral or written instructions
- Able to handle variable demands and changing conditions
- Willingness to work in plasma center environment with exposure to biological fluids and cold temperature
- Personal protective equipment usage required
Job Qualifications
- Certified/licensed as a Paramedic, EMT-Basic, EMT-Advanced, Registered Nurse, Licensed Practical Nurse or Licensed Vocational Nurse in the state of employment
- Current CPR certification
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Knowledge of medical and health safety protocols
- Experience in donor or patient care preferred
Job Duties
- Perform physical examination and establish medical history to determine donor suitability
- Build rapport with donors to ensure overall customer satisfaction
- Ensure donor and staff confidentiality
- Responsible for donor awareness to potential hazards
- Provide donor education regarding general health and provide counseling regarding unacceptable test results
- Evaluate and manage donor injuries and adverse events
- Perform evaluations of any history of illness or medications to ensure continued donor suitability
- Assist in employee training
- Administer employee Hepatitis Vaccine program
