Job Requirements
- Current advanced EMT or EMT-paramedic licensure in Tennessee
- Current BLS certification
- Certified Flight Communicator certification within one year of employment
- Completion of FEMA ICS-100, ICS-200, ICS-700, ICS-800 courses within 60 days of employment
- Valid driver’s license
- Minimum of two years public safety or emergency communications center experience
- Knowledge of EMS and pre-hospital medicine principles
- Ability to work variable shifts including nights, weekends, holidays and on-call
- Ability to respond to off-site incidents with mobile communication units
- Strong communication and coordination skills
- Ability to maintain accurate records and reports
Job Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited Advanced EMT or EMT-Paramedic training program
- Emergency Medical Dispatch certificate preferred
- APCO Certified Public Safety Telecommunicator preferred
- Associates or Bachelors degree preferred
- Minimum of two years public safety field or emergency communications center experience
- Knowledge of pre-hospital EMS practices and incident command system operations
- Experience with computer aided dispatch and electronic health record systems
- Experience in hospital emergency department or healthcare outpatient settings preferred
- Supervisory experience in EMS or public safety preferred
Job Duties
- Facilitate air medical flight request intake and coordinate flight following per FAA Part 135 regulations
- Manage event medicine and special operations team communications
- Coordinate regional medical control and consultation between EMS providers and hospitals
- Oversee emergency medical service resource coordination for mass casualty incidents and disasters
- Act as the central point of coordination for Erlanger emergency and disaster preparedness communications
- Maintain accurate and compliant flight and medical communication records
- Support interoperability and communication among emergency responders and healthcare teams
