Job Requirements
- Educated and currently certified or licensed in the state of employment and according to state requirements as a registered nurse, licensed practical nurse, licensed vocation nurse, paramedic, or EMT
- current CPR certification required
- ability to perform physical activities including standing and sitting for up to 2 to 4 hours, bending and twisting neck for 1 to 2 hours
- frequent hand and foot movements
- ability to lift up to 50lbs
- hearing acuity essential
- color perception and vision correctable to required standards
- ability to communicate effectively
- work independently and with guidance
- exposure to biological fluids, infectious agents, electrical and laboratory equipment, and extreme cold environments
- must use personal protective equipment
Job Qualifications

- excellent communication skills
- ability to work independently and within guidance
- knowledge of medical terminology and procedures related to plasma donation
- able to maintain confidentiality and relate sensitive information appropriately
- experience in donor care or related healthcare fields preferred
Job Duties
- Perform physical examination and establish medical history to determine donor suitability
- build rapport with donors to ensure overall customer satisfaction
- ensure donor and staff confidentiality
- responsible for donor awareness to potential hazards
- provide donor education regarding general health and provide counseling regarding unacceptable test results
- evaluate and manage donor injuries and adverse events
- perform evaluations of any history of illness or medications to ensure continued donor suitability
- assist in employee training
- administer employee Hepatitis Vaccine program
