Job Requirements
- Must possess and maintain a valid telephone number
- must be available to work irregular hours including nights, weekends, and holidays
- must submit a copy of certification for EMT or Paramedic licensing
- ability to perform heavy physical work including lifting 50 to 75 pounds regularly and up to 100 pounds frequently
- must pass pre-employment and random drug testing
- must comply with all City of Lakeland policies and procedures
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- completion of certification for EMT or Paramedic licensing
- thorough knowledge of emergency medical procedures and equipment
- knowledge of building policies and event requirements
- ability to read and follow verbal and written instructions
- ability to interact positively and professionally with employees and the public
- physical ability to stand for long periods and climb stairs
- ability to lift heavy objects or injured guests
- ability to remain alert and observant
- ability to handle stressful and emergency situations calmly
Job Duties
- Inspects the facility before and during events for unsafe conditions
- administers emergency first aid to guests or employees as required
- proficiently uses emergency medical equipment
- ensures accuracy and completion of first-aid time cards
- completes and submits medical emergency and accident reports
- handles problems and complaints professionally and calmly
- directs guests to appropriate supervisors
- provides directions regarding handicapped seating, lost and found, restrooms, and event information
- monitors crowd adherence to building policies
- reports accidents and unsafe conditions immediately
- monitors ticketed and non-ticketed events according to requirements
- follows dress and behavior codes
- attends pre-event meetings and training
- participates in training to support departmental or city initiatives
- may work overtime or alternate hours as needed
- performs other related duties as assigned
