Job Requirements

  • Must have high school diploma or GED
  • Must hold valid Advanced EMD or EMD-Q certification or be able to obtain within six months
  • IAMTCS certification required within eighteen months
  • Current CPR certification required
  • Recommend three years of experience as a paramedic or dispatcher or one year in a high call volume EMD center
  • Must demonstrate good verbal and written communication skills
  • Must have basic computer skills
  • Must be able to work effectively under stress
  • Must be proficient with medical terminology and procedures

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Valid Advanced EMD or EMD-Q certification or ability to obtain within six months

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Basic computer proficiency
  • Proficiency in medical terms, conditions, and procedures

Job Duties

  • Receive and process emergency and non-emergency pre-hospital service requests in a timely manner
  • Utilize system status management to dispatch emergency medical resources for air and ground units
  • Provide medical information using protocol driven instructions
  • Assess and evaluate patient care needs for ground and air transportation
  • Coordinate information and resources with public safety agencies
  • Maintain communication with emergency medical teams and ensure accurate data logging
  • Operate emergency dispatching programs, adhering to policies and procedures
