Job Requirements
- Must have a high school diploma or GED
- Must possess a valid Advanced EMD or EMD-Q certification or obtain within six months of employment
- Must obtain IAMTCS certification within eighteen months of employment
- Must have current CPR certification
- Recommended three years of experience as a paramedic or dispatcher or one year in a high call volume EMD dispatch center
- Must have good verbal communication skills
- Must have good written communication skills
- Must have basic computer skills
- Must be able to function effectively in stressful situations
- Must demonstrate proficiency in medical terms, conditions, and procedures
Job Qualifications

- Valid Advanced EMD or EMD-Q certification or ability to obtain within six months of employment

- Excellent verbal communication skills
- Good written communication skills
- Basic computer skills
- Proficiency in medical terminology
- Experience as a paramedic or dispatcher preferred
- Experience in high call volume EMD dispatch center preferred
Job Duties
- Receive and efficiently process incoming and outgoing emergency and non-emergency pre-hospital service requests
- Utilize system status management for dispatch and coordination of emergency medical resources
- Provide medical information using protocol-driven instructions
- Assess and meet patient care needs for ground and air transportation according to established programs and procedures
- Coordinate information and resources with other public safety agencies
- Demonstrate proficiency in medical terminology, conditions, and procedures
- Function effectively in stressful and high call volume situations
