Job Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- Strong customer service skills
- Strong organizational skills and commitment to working in a professional environment
- Strong computer skills including MS Word, MS Excel, MS Outlook and Internet
- Ability to work a flexible schedule including evenings and weekends
- Ability to travel to work at other sites as needed
- Proof of required vaccinations is required with possible accommodations for religious or medical reasons
Job Qualifications

- Ability to work a flexible schedule including evenings and weekends
- Proof of required vaccinations or accommodation documentation
- Experience with Electronic Medical Records such as eClinicalWorks
- Minimum of one year experience as a Medical Receptionist or Emotional Wellness Receptionist is preferred
- Bilingual in English and Spanish or Amharic is a plus
Job Duties
- Greet patients in a polite and professional manner on the telephone and in person
- Answer and screen all telephone calls daily while scheduling appointments, creating telephone encounters and forwarding them to the appropriate personnel within 1 business day
- Register new patients in eClinicalWorks and verify that registration is complete and appropriate documents are obtained and scanned into the patient account
- Verify patients’ insurances and determine any charges/copayments at the time of appointment scheduling or within 1 to 2 business days of visit and document findings in Billing Notes and Claim Data
- Refer patients to Enrollment Assister for insurance or sliding fee scale enrollment
- Monitor and respond in a timely manner to patient voicemails daily or as assigned
- Monitor and respond to telephone encounter queue daily or as assigned
- Monitor actions queue and call patients to schedule follow-up appointments daily or as assigned
- Collect payments for visits, log payments in eClinicalWorks and issue receipts to patients
- Secure patient information and maintain patient confidence by completing and safeguarding medical records and keeping patient information confidential
- Use de-escalation skills to manage customer service problems on non-clinical issues, troubleshoot problems and seek solutions, contacting supervisor if immediate solution is not available
- Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor
