Job Requirements
- must be an Alaska resident
- ability to work shift work including holidays, irregular hours, and overtime
- pass FBI fingerprint based criminal history check
- pass Transportation Security Administration Security Threat Assessment
- obtain APSIN certification
- ability to multitask and maintain emotional control during stressful situations
- typing speed of 30 words per minute with no more than three errors per minute
- minimum two years of work experience including clerical tasks
Job Qualifications
- two years of relevant work experience including six months of clerical tasks
- ability to type at net 30 words per minute with less than three errors per minute
- knowledge of telecommunications principles and database management systems
- ability to maintain composure and multitask during emergencies
- strong oral and written communication skills
- ability to obtain and maintain APSIN certification and required background clearances
Job Duties
- operate the Airport’s Communication Center and handle all calls for service
- monitor airport security and fire systems for alarms
- communicate effectively with Air Traffic Control and first responders
- prioritize and process emergency and non-emergency calls using CAD
- provide routine customer service and data entry
- multitask in a high-pressure environment
- work collaboratively with team members to coordinate responses
