Job Requirements
- Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate
- One year of experience at an Emergency Communication System as an operator or from the field as a pre-hospital clinician
- Experience working as a licensed Emergency Medical Technician or above or Emergency Medical Dispatcher
- Must be subject to call 24 hours a day and provide a reachable telephone number
- Subject to substance abuse testing in accordance with the Code of Maryland Regulations
- Possession of a valid Maryland motor vehicle operator’s license if assigned duties require operation of a motor vehicle
Job Qualifications
- Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate
- One year of experience at an Emergency Communication System as an operator or from the field as a pre-hospital clinician
- Experience working as a licensed Emergency Medical Technician or above or Emergency Medical Dispatcher
- Preferred certification as an Emergency Medical Technician or above
- Ability to operate a motor vehicle with valid Maryland driver’s license when required
Job Duties
- Provides EMS Communications service to EMS field and hospital personnel
- Coordinates medevac helicopter activity including calls requesting service
- Assigns and dispatches appropriate aircraft
- Monitors weather conditions and other factors related to flight safety
- Monitors helicopter tracking tools for flight safety
- Answers calls from EMS field personnel requiring communications with hospitals for notification or medical direction
