Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • One year of customer service, call center, or dispatching experience
  • Current AHA Health Care Provider CPR certification
  • Certification in Emergency Medical Dispatch (EMD) at hire or obtained within first three months of employment

Job Qualifications

  • One year of customer service, call center, or dispatching experience
  • EMT certification or medical experience preferred
  • Working knowledge of radio communications
  • Basic computer knowledge
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Current AHA Health Care Provider CPR certification
  • Certification in Emergency Medical Dispatch (EMD) at hire or obtained within first three months of employment

Job Duties

  • Coordinates emergent and non-emergent requests for Mayo Clinic Ambulance Service including ambulance, Mayo One airplane, and Mayo One helicopter transport
  • Receives and coordinates radio and telephone communications into the Emergency Department at Saint Marys and Methodist Campuses
  • Coordinates advanced notification of patient arrival information to appropriate areas within Mayo Clinic Medical Center
  • Provides 911 caller pre-arrival instructions for Mayo Clinic Ambulance and other counties within Minnesota and Wisconsin
  • Activates Acute Stroke Team, Cath/Stemi Team, ED Resuscitation Team, Family Activated Pediatric Response Team (PRRT), and Trauma Team for the Mayo Clinic Medical Center
