Job Requirements
- Associate's degree
- Minimum experience in customer service or public contact in a service organization
- Preferred three years of work experience in customer service
- Education in ethical resolution preferred
- Computer data entry skills under Windows operating system
- Basic Life Support certification within 90 days of hiring
- Ability to maintain confidentiality
- Strong interpersonal and negotiation skills
- Willingness to work flexible schedules

Job Duties
- Assist with patient concerns in the emergency department
- Listen, evaluate, and diffuse situations
- Retain accurate information and document events and resolutions
- Round on emergency department waiting room, patients, admission holds, and observation patients
- Complete and file rounding forms with emergency department leadership
- Provide advocate support for patient issues
- Use data entry systems for documentation of service recovery and patient feedback
- Greet patients and update them on wait times
- Assist with patient flow in the emergency department
- Educate and evaluate employees on customer service and service recovery techniques
- Maintain confidentiality at all times
- Prioritize workload and ensure back-up coverage
- Answer emergency department concierge telephone courteously and triage messages
- Support families, physicians, and hospital staff with negotiation skills
- Maintain composure and decisiveness to diffuse difficult scenarios
