Job Requirements
- Experience of 1 or more years in a professional kitchen preferred
- Basic knife skills
- Familiarity with kitchen equipment
- Valid Food Handler's card or ability to obtain after hire
- Ability to stand for long periods
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Flexibility to work nights, weekends, and holidays
Job Qualifications
- Experience of 1 or more years in a professional kitchen preferred, culinary students or recent graduates welcome
- Basic knife skills
- familiarity with kitchen equipment
- willingness to learn cooking techniques
- Positive attitude and strong work ethic
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
- Valid Food Handler's card (can be obtained after hire if needed)
Job Duties
- Assist with prep and setup of assigned station before service begins
- Execute basic cooking tasks on the hot or cold line such as grilling, frying, sautéing, plating
- Follow recipes, portion controls, and presentation specifications
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of kitchen areas including stations, coolers, and prep spaces
- Label and date all food items
- rotate products using FIFO method
- Support banquet, à la carte, and in-room dining prep as needed
- Follow all food safety guidelines including temperature logs and sanitation protocols
- Receive direction from senior cooks and chefs
- take initiative to improve skills and knowledge
