Job Requirements

  • At least 5 years of progressive experience in a hotel or related field
  • 2-year college degree or higher
  • related experience as specified
  • holds and maintains Food Handlers certification
  • holds and maintains Alcohol Awareness certification
  • CPR and First Aid certification required
  • proficiency in Windows operating systems
  • proficiency in company approved spreadsheets and word processing
  • supervisory experience preferred
  • strong communication skills
  • ability to evaluate and make decisions quickly

Job Qualifications

  • At least 5 years of progressive experience in a hotel or related field with a 2-year college degree and 3 or more years of related experience or a 4-year college degree with 1 to 2 years of related experience or a culinary degree with 1 to 2 years of progressive experience in a hotel or related field
  • Holds and maintains applicable certification requirements including Food Handlers, Alcohol Awareness, CPR and First Aid
  • Proficient in Windows operating systems, company approved spreadsheets, and word processing
  • Supervisory experience preferred
  • Ability to convey information and ideas clearly
  • Ability to evaluate and select among alternative courses of action quickly and accurately
  • Ability to work well in stressful, high pressure situations
  • Ability to maintain composure and objectivity under pressure
  • Effective at handling problems in the workplace including anticipating, preventing, identifying, and solving problems
  • Ability to assimilate complex information and data from disparate sources
  • Effective at listening to, understanding, clarifying, and resolving concerns raised by co-workers and guests
  • Ability to work with and understand financial information and basic arithmetic functions

Job Duties

  • Assist in providing oversight of the kitchen staff, outlets, banquet food display merchandising, and operations of the Kitchen and Banquet departments as required
  • Work towards improving Cafe, Room Service, Lounge, and Banquet sales revenues to exceed budget in partnership with the F&B Director and staff
  • Maintain familiarity with the general organization of a hotel and the function of each department
  • Communicate in a timely and efficient manner
  • Assist the F&B Director with forecasting and budgeting tasks
  • Maintain professional working relationships and promote open communication with managers, employees, and other departments
  • Stay knowledgeable and aware of local competition and industry trends
