Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Two years of related work experience may be considered in lieu of education
- One year of food service experience in food preparation, handling, safety, and sanitation
- Proficiency in cashiering and working with Microsoft Office
- Basic math skills including addition, subtraction, and multiplication
- Completion of the ASD Serving It Safe food safety course and passing the examination within 21 days of hire
- Ability to stand, walk, sit frequently
- Ability to lift items up to 40 pounds occasionally
- Ability to work under pressure and manage stress
- Ability to communicate effectively in English with students, staff, and the public
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Two years of related work experience may substitute for education
- One year of food service experience including food preparation, handling, safety, and sanitation
- Proficiency in cashiering and Microsoft Office
- Basic math skills including addition, subtraction, and multiplication
- Ability to complete and pass a food safety course within 21 days of hire
Job Duties
- Manage all food and supply inventories, ordering, production records, cash handling procedures, bank deposits and timely paperwork submission
- Ensure meals are prepared on schedule for an estimated number of students
- Monitor and record kitchen equipment temperatures and food heating/cooling times according to HACCP standards
- Resolve complaints promptly and communicate concerns to supervisor
- Train, supervise, and evaluate school cafeteria assistants
- Coordinate employee timecards and leave requests with supervisor
- Maintain compliance with sanitation and food safety practices and federal meal program regulations
