Job Requirements

  • bachelor’s degree in safety/construction related discipline
  • minimum 2-3 years of construction safety management experience preferred
  • 3+ years of commercial, industrial, or heavy civil electrical experience
  • knowledge of construction safety
  • knowledge of NEC requirements
  • knowledge of OSHA standards
  • excellent interpersonal skills
  • attention to detail
  • ability to work independently
  • ability to work as part of a team

Job Duties

  • monitor daily construction and electrical installation activities for compliance with OSHA, NEC-related requirements, and company rules/policies
  • implement SHEMS, federal, state, and local regulations
  • assist with executing safety strategy and culture
  • review subcontractor safety programs for completeness and compliance with B&G’s policies, regulation, and contractual requirements
  • monitor project activities with the review of the construction management team and design procedures, programs, and policies affecting construction safety on assigned project
  • ensure subcontractors are conducting the proper training as per OSHA standards and electrical safety protocols
  • gather pre-task plans and job hazard analysis (JHA) for all project contracts based on contractual requirements
  • assist in the development, review, updating and communication of the safety plan to the on-site team, including subcontractors
  • provide coaching and mentoring to facilitate on-site safety, including safe electrical work practices
  • coach, advise, and facilitate other related field personnel with safety management responsibilities
  • ensure that safety and health issues are routinely discussed on all levels of management
  • implement company safety policies and continuously monitor the workplace for hazardous safety and health conditions to maintain a safe work environment
  • ensure all employees have the appropriate safety and health training relative to their position and project
  • assist in the investigation of incidents and accidents, identify the root cause, and ensure that all accident reports are recorded in a timely, complete, and accurate manner
  • engage in site safety inspections, coordinating corrections with all contractors, including electrical trades
  • develop and implement safety measurements/metrics for tracking and reporting safety performance of the general contractor self-perform work and subcontractors
  • assist in the development and acceptance of job hazard analysis (JHA), site safety work plans, public hazard analysis, and environmental management plans
  • serve as a point of contact for site safety and risk assessment
  • develop and implement contractor orientation procedures for a multi-lingual work site
  • provide general safety oversight and performance of both administrative and field safety management responsibilities
  • perform safety orientation for employees and subcontractors
  • other duties as assigned
