Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in environmental safety, occupational safety and health or related field
- minimum of 7 years previous experience in leading the safety function at a manufacturing site
- 1-3 years of previous management experience
- MSP, ASP or CSP certification strongly preferred
- proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
- knowledge of FDA Good Manufacturing Practices and OSHA safety requirements
- ability to solve problems effectively
- ability to prioritize work and meet deadlines
- experience managing, coaching and developing others
- ability to develop and lead training
- excellent communication skills both verbal and written

Job Qualifications

Job Duties
- Develops, implements, and maintains all environmental, health, safety and security programs, policies and procedures in accordance with laws
- trains employees on all EH&S programs, policies and procedures and coordinates external training
- develops and maintains EH&S training curriculum for each position
- inspects sites to identify safety, health and environmental risks and conducts safety audits
- coordinates corrective action plans with management
- conducts safety hazard assessments and audits work activities for compliance
- develops an incident and accident reporting procedure and leads injury investigations
- coordinates training and safety orientation for external agencies
- leads security efforts and develops partnerships with external agencies
- serves as HAZMAT and DOT compliance specialist
- develops and distributes safety and HR metrics and provides recommendations
- establishes safety-first culture strategies including incentive programs
- manages safety budget and approves invoices
- trains and coaches department employees
- completes employee performance reviews and required reports
- maintains confidentiality of safety and injury records
- exhibits regular attendance and flexibility to work outside normal hours as needed
- performs other related duties as required
