Job Requirements

  • Ability to report for assigned shift on time
  • Ability to complete assigned tasks after training
  • Ability to consistently complete full shift as assigned
  • Ability to perform medium to heavy physical work including lifting up to 75 pounds infrequently
  • Ability to work standing for full 8-hour shifts
  • Ability to use and handle cleaning chemicals safely with proper PPE
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English
  • Willingness to respond quickly to emergency cleaning needs
  • Commitment to uphold safety and compliance standards

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • One to two years of experience in housekeeping or service work, preferably in healthcare
  • Ability to demonstrate skills in 10-step cleaning process after training
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to complete assigned duties thoroughly
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team and interact respectfully with others
  • Knowledge of proper use of cleaning chemicals and personal protective equipment

Job Duties

  • Perform thorough 10-step cleaning and servicing of assigned hospital areas
  • Use pre-approved products, tools, and procedures to maintain cleanliness
  • Respond rapidly to emergencies, spills, and special cleaning needs with urgency
  • Support bed moves, cleaning of IV poles and pumps, and stocking supplies
  • Maintain excellent verbal and oral communication skills with patients, visitors, and staff
  • Consistently complete full assigned shifts and tasks with attention to detail
  • Adhere to Frederick Health mission, vision, core values, and compliance programs
