Job Requirements

  • Ability to report for assigned shifts on time
  • Ability to complete assigned tasks after training
  • Consistent completion of full shifts as assigned
  • Attention to detail in cleaning process
  • Rapid response to emergencies and urgent situations
  • Ability to communicate effectively and cheerfully
  • Ability to read, write and speak English
  • Ability to stand and perform physical activities for a full 8-hour shift
  • Ability to handle lifting up to 75 pounds infrequently
  • Willingness to work evenings, weekends and rotating holidays
  • Following all safety and compliance requirements

Job Qualifications

  • High school graduate or equivalent preferred
  • One to two years experience in housekeeping or service work, preferably in a healthcare facility
  • Ability to demonstrate knowledge and skills in the 10-step cleaning process after training
  • Excellent communication skills in English
  • Ability to perform physical tasks including lifting, pushing, and pulling
  • Capability to work with chemicals safely using proper PPE

Job Duties

  • Perform thorough 10-step cleaning and servicing of assigned areas
  • Complete cleaning tasks in patient rooms, care areas, departments, offices, and public spaces
  • Use pre-approved products, tools and procedures consistently
  • Respond quickly to emergencies, spills, and special cleaning needs
  • Maintain excellent verbal and oral communication with patients, staff, and visitors
  • Perform related services like bed moves, cleaning IV poles and pumps, stocking supplies
  • Adhere to Frederick Health mission, vision, core values, and compliance standards
