Job Requirements

  • graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
  • minimum two years experience in relevant educational programming preferred
  • strong organizational and interpersonal skills
  • ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • willingness to attend events and work flexible hours as needed
  • proof of US citizenship or authorization to work in the US
  • successful completion of pre-employment drug testing
  • must complete the City of Springfield online application in its entirety

Job Qualifications

  • bachelor's degree in communication, marketing, education, natural and applied sciences, graphic design, planning, or related field
  • two years experience in developing or providing educational programming to community groups or schools
  • strong communication and presentation skills
  • ability to create engaging educational content
  • experience in community outreach and public engagement
  • creativity and organizational skills

Job Duties

  • develop and deliver environmental and transportation-related education programs
  • plan and implement public outreach initiatives
  • create engaging educational materials
  • represent the City at community events and meetings
  • conduct facility tours and informational sessions
  • collaborate with schools and community organizations
