Job Qualifications

  • Experience developing and delivering presentations and training curriculum for small businesses or other relevant audiences preferred
  • Experience planning training or events preferred
  • Experience in marketing preferred
  • Experience using a CRM to track and report events and activities preferred
  • Excellent interpersonal skills including presentation, public speaking, and customer interaction skills
  • Proficient in Canva, social media platforms, Zoom, Microsoft Office Suite, and G Suite
  • Strong organizational, project management, and time management skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively and independently
  • Ability to adjust to changing workloads
  • Must maintain a valid driver’s license and meet requirements for operating vehicles on state business
  • Must be available to work a flexible schedule including nights and weekends
  • Must be available for in-state and out-of-state travel including overnight stays
  • Must successfully pass criminal and sex offender background checks
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to university policies

Job Duties

  • Work in collaboration with the training team to conceive and conduct training and events across Arkansas to educate aspiring entrepreneurs and current small business owners and employees
  • Plan and implement training and events in collaboration with ASBTDC staff, which may entail instructing events in person or virtual, creating curriculum, recruiting subject matter experts, publicizing events, and engaging with public and private sector partners
  • Support programming and event services for the ASBTDC network by assisting regional offices, developing new program offerings, and accomplishing strategic initiatives
  • Recruit and schedule subject matter experts and collaborative partners to provide training on a broad range of topics and meet deliverables associated with various projects, including required program topics
  • Coordinate logistics for in-person and virtual events, including venue, catering (if applicable), audio/visual equipment, signage, materials, etc.
  • Support special initiatives for the UA Little Rock office and ASBTDC network, including network meetings and professional development events
  • Document and monitor event attendance, attendee evaluations, and fees in CRM
  • prepare event documentation required by all applicable grants
  • Complete work timely and accurately
  • have a clear understanding of training and event policies and procedures, workflow, and deadlines
  • ensure that other team members have what they need in advance to complete their work tasks
  • Document events and time in Neoserra according to policies and grant requirements
  • Earn 32 hours of professional development annually
  • Perform other duties as assigned
  • Collaborate with ASBTDC staff to effectively market training and events
  • prepare and implement marketing as required to maximize attendance, most often through social media and email marketing and community outreach
  • Represent the ASBTDC as a public speaker to business and community groups, university classes, private sector partners, and similar entities and represent the organization at various events, trade shows, and activities
  • Produce digital and other content in accordance with the ASBTDC marketing plan
  • Help develop strategic partnerships to position the ASBTDC as the leader in entrepreneurial services
  • Assist the ASBTDC in sustaining support of its activities and communicating its successes by providing narrative reports on activities and accomplishments for inclusion in progress or other special reports to the public, sponsoring agencies, host institutions, and other stakeholders
  • Document activities and time in CRM according to policies and grant requirements
