Job Requirements

  • interest in pursuing a career in the culinary arts
  • previous management or supervisory experience in high volume kitchen
  • previous culinary experience or education required
  • ability to supervise others in a positive and professional manner
  • maintain a current food handlers card
  • ability to interact positively with other employees, vendors, departments, customers, and guests
  • excellent organizational and prioritization skills
  • ability to work efficiently and multi-task while meeting deadlines in deadline oriented environment
  • flexible schedule required including days, evenings, weekends, special events and holidays
  • ability to work the hours necessary to complete the job
  • working knowledge of all company policies and procedures

Job Qualifications

Job Duties

  • assist in managing all daily kitchen functions and kitchen staff in executive chef's absence
  • oversee all food production and execution including restaurant/pub, catering, and special events
  • supervise and train kitchen staff
  • adhere to and enforce portioning guidelines
  • interview and hire staff
  • order food products and kitchen supplies
  • staff scheduling
  • conduct employee performance evaluations
  • perform general filing and administrative duties
  • manage food and labor costs
  • ensure timely food expediting
  • attend department head and staff meetings
  • take and extend monthly inventory
  • develop menus and food specials
  • attend weekly contract meetings for catering
  • track contract change orders
  • communicate consistently with sales and catering departments
  • ensure quality and presentation of catering food
  • staff carving stations
  • plan catering menus
  • maintain safety and cleanliness standards
  • promote a positive work environment
