Job Requirements

  • high school diploma or GED
  • two years post high school work experience in customer service or related environment
  • experience or willingness to learn public assistance eligibility policies
  • two years experience using computers in a fast-paced setting
  • valid Wisconsin driver license
  • ability to maintain confidentiality
  • ability to make independent decisions and follow data security protocols
  • strong multitasking and customer service skills

Job Qualifications

  • experience working in a call center environment preferred
  • high school diploma or GED
  • sixty credits post-secondary education preferred
  • two years post high school work experience in customer service or a people-oriented environment
  • post secondary degree may substitute for work experience
  • two years of experience using computers in a fast-paced work environment
  • experience or ability to learn eligibility determination for public assistance programs
  • experience working with diverse socio-economic and cultural backgrounds
  • valid Wisconsin driver license
  • prompt and regular attendance

Job Duties

  • perform eligibility determination for public assistance programs
  • conduct redetermination and budget income assessments
  • work in a call center environment answering customer questions and taking applications
  • review cases and assess eligibility for food share, child care, medical assistance and caretaker supplement benefits
  • process documentation provided by customers and make independent decisions
  • prepare notices for all programs as needed or required
  • refer applicants or recipients suspected of fraudulent activity to the Program and Integrity units
