Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- six months to one year of related bakery experience
- ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally and 20 pounds frequently
- vision adequate to perform duties with or without correction including color vision and depth perception
- physical ability to stoop crouch reach stand walk push pull lift finger grasp feel talk hear and perform repetitive motions
- willingness to work daytime shifts
- adherence to company policies and hygiene standards
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- over six months up to one year of similar or related bakery experience
- ability to solve practical problems with limited standardization
- ability to perform arithmetic calculations including fractions decimals and percentages
- good interpersonal and communication skills
- knowledge of bakery equipment and procedures
- ability to maintain cleanliness and adhere to sanitation standards
- leadership ability to oversee bakery clerks when required
Job Duties
- Provide prompt efficient and friendly customer service
- smile and greet customers in a friendly manner
- make an effort to learn customers' names and address them by name
- assist customers by escorting them to products securing out-of-reach items loading or unloading heavy merchandise taking customer requests and suggestions
- answer telephone promptly and take product orders
- check orders and set production schedules
- prepare make up bake and fry all bakery products
- review product freshness and pull stale items
- invoice and merchandise products as instructed
- anticipate product needs for current and future days
- inspect incoming product quality and quantity
- follow up on bakery equipment maintenance issues
- check signage for correct labels
- review department for safety issues
- operate as lead with bakery clerks
- prioritize orders per customer and manager requests
- proof necessary items
- retrieve products from freezer or cooler
- maintain proper sanitation procedures and clean work area
- adhere to hygiene dress code and company policies
- report to work on schedule and on time
- order supplies and merchandise as directed
- review and re-merchandise shelves
- write department schedule in bakery manager's absence
- assist in other store areas as needed
- perform other related duties and special projects
