Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • six months to one year of related bakery experience
  • ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally and 20 pounds frequently
  • vision adequate to perform duties with or without correction including color vision and depth perception
  • physical ability to stoop crouch reach stand walk push pull lift finger grasp feel talk hear and perform repetitive motions
  • willingness to work daytime shifts
  • adherence to company policies and hygiene standards

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • over six months up to one year of similar or related bakery experience
  • ability to solve practical problems with limited standardization
  • ability to perform arithmetic calculations including fractions decimals and percentages
  • good interpersonal and communication skills
  • knowledge of bakery equipment and procedures
  • ability to maintain cleanliness and adhere to sanitation standards
  • leadership ability to oversee bakery clerks when required

Job Duties

  • Provide prompt efficient and friendly customer service
  • smile and greet customers in a friendly manner
  • make an effort to learn customers' names and address them by name
  • assist customers by escorting them to products securing out-of-reach items loading or unloading heavy merchandise taking customer requests and suggestions
  • answer telephone promptly and take product orders
  • check orders and set production schedules
  • prepare make up bake and fry all bakery products
  • review product freshness and pull stale items
  • invoice and merchandise products as instructed
  • anticipate product needs for current and future days
  • inspect incoming product quality and quantity
  • follow up on bakery equipment maintenance issues
  • check signage for correct labels
  • review department for safety issues
  • operate as lead with bakery clerks
  • prioritize orders per customer and manager requests
  • proof necessary items
  • retrieve products from freezer or cooler
  • maintain proper sanitation procedures and clean work area
  • adhere to hygiene dress code and company policies
  • report to work on schedule and on time
  • order supplies and merchandise as directed
  • review and re-merchandise shelves
  • write department schedule in bakery manager's absence
  • assist in other store areas as needed
  • perform other related duties and special projects
