Job Description

Communities Putting Learning Communities (CPLC) is a well-established organization devoted to fostering educational and developmental opportunities for children and families in underserved communities. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • At least six months experience and/or training with children ages 0-5 preferred
  • Good communication skills both written and verbal
  • Ability to follow through on assigned tasks
  • Relate positively and clearly with children, parents, volunteers, and staff
  • Demonstrate basic computer literacy and skills
  • Bilingual English/Spanish preferred
  • Valid Texas driver’s license free of restrictions preferred for Texas centers
  • Valid New Mexico driver’s license free of restrictions preferred for New Mexico centers

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Child Development Associate (CDA) certification preferred
  • Experience or training with children ages 0-5 preferred
  • Good communication skills both written and verbal
  • Ability to relate positively and clearly with children, parents, volunteers, and staff
  • Basic computer literacy and skills
  • Bilingual English/Spanish preferred
  • Valid Texas or New Mexico Driver's License preferred

Job Duties

  • Assist the bus driver and facilities custodian to ensure children observe safety rules and regulations while on the bus
  • Provide educational activities to complement children’s classroom education
  • Deliver clear and appropriate directives to children regarding conduct and safety on the bus
  • Actively supervise children by sight and sound at all times and in all environments
  • Maintain health and safety regulations to create an optimum learning environment
  • Facilitate health practices to keep children safe on the bus, outdoor, and indoor environments
  • Promote school readiness by preparing children and families for school and life success
