Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • One year of relevant experience or college credit substitution
  • Valid driver license
  • Availability for rotating shifts and on-call duties
  • Residence within 30 miles of Davie, Florida headquarters
  • Successful completion of numeric work sample test
  • Ability to travel occasionally for emergency responses
  • Compliance with anti-AI usage in recruitment process

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • One year of experience in radio-teletype operations, sworn law enforcement, dispatching, forestry, firefighting or public contact work
  • Valid driver license
  • Ability to operate communication and computer equipment effectively
  • Knowledge of fire suppression and emergency response protocols
  • Strong judgment and decision-making skills during critical incidents
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills

Job Duties

  • Dispatch crews to wildfires, smoke complaints and other incidents
  • Operate communications equipment including computers, radios and telephones
  • Authorize and track burn permits, assist landowners and conduct compliance checks
  • Maintain accurate records, files and reports related to communication center operations
  • Coordinate with multiple agencies, supervisors and emergency personnel during incidents
  • Relay fire weather forecasts and monitor unusual weather activities
  • Perform on-site inspections support and other related assigned duties
