Job Requirements
- Must be at least 21 years of age
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Flexible schedule including weekends
- Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English
- Bi-lingual (English/Spanish) is a plus
- Ability to maintain composure in stressful situations
- Tolerate secondary smoke, high noise levels, bright lights, and dust
- Food Handlers Certification required
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Minimum of 5 years experience working in a fine dining kitchen preparing a variety of meats, poultry, pork, pastas, vegetables, and soups
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards
- Ability to follow detailed recipes and execute complex cooking techniques
- Strong knife skills and kitchen safety awareness
- Ability to work in fast-paced environments
- Effective communication skills
Job Duties
- Prepare menu items as directed by recipes provided by the Sous Chef or Executive Chef
- Ensure quality and proportion size of all dishes
- Maintain the highest quality standards in finished products
- Practice proper food and knife handling skills
- Apply proper kitchen safety procedures and basic cooking skills
- Disinfect and sanitize cutting boards and worktables
- Ensure kitchen and Health Department sanitation requirements are always met
- Properly wrap, label, date, and store food items in their designated areas
- Other duties as assigned
