Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • 6 years experience in culinary or related area
  • OR 2-year degree in Culinary Arts, Hotel and Restaurant Management, or related major
  • 4 years experience in culinary or related area
  • strong leadership skills
  • knowledge of food handling and sanitation certifications
  • ability to manage budgets and control expenses
  • excellent communication skills
  • ability to manage and resolve employee issues

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED with 6 years experience in culinary or related area
  • OR 2-year degree in Culinary Arts, Hotel and Restaurant Management, or related major with 4 years experience
  • strong leadership and interpersonal skills
  • knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards
  • experience in budgeting and cost control
  • ability to mentor and develop staff
  • excellent communication skills

Job Duties

  • Leads kitchen management team
  • provides direction for all day-to-day operations
  • supervises and coordinates activities of cooks and workers engaged in food preparation
  • develops and implements guidelines and control procedures for purchasing and receiving areas
  • monitors the quality of raw and cooked food products to ensure standards are met
  • ensures compliance with food handling and sanitation standards
  • manages employee progressive discipline procedures for areas of responsibility
