Job Qualifications
- Associate of Applied Science degree in Culinary Arts, Hospitality Management or closely related field
- One to three years experience in restaurant or hospitality industry
- Current Food Manager Certificate
- Bachelor's degree in Culinary Arts, Hospitality Management or related field preferred
- American Culinary Federation Certification preferred
Job Duties
- Exhibit a commitment to excellence in teaching and learning
- Maintain current and comprehensive knowledge and experience in the teaching field and assigned teaching discipline
- Create a classroom environment reflecting professionalism, equity, respect, and trust
- Adhere to college policies including employee standards of conduct
- Perform job duties as assigned by the department chair and dean
- Design classroom instructional activities appropriate to course rigor and objectives
- Embed interactive learning activities to engage student learning
- Facilitate student learning and successful course completion
- Align assessments with student core competencies
- Motivate students by maintaining dignified, cordial classroom atmosphere
- Meet all classes as scheduled and maximize use of class time
- Maintain scheduled office hours and follow attendance policies
- Follow prescribed course syllabi and assigned textbooks
- Inform students of learning outcomes, procedures, and grading policies
- Demonstrate initiative and support leadership and faculty goals
- Attend and participate in department and school meetings
- Maintain accurate student attendance and grade records
- Model professional conduct and enforce student policies
- Participate in convocation and graduation events
- Maintain required memberships, certifications, and licensures
- Assume additional duties as assigned by department chair or dean
- Engage in TJC-sponsored events beyond classes
- Network with community members to promote TJC programs
- Exhibit conduct reflecting institution mission and values
- Encourage student engagement in culinary or hospitality clubs
