Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum of 5 years experience in food and beverage management or related hospitality field
  • Proven leadership and supervisory skills
  • Strong communication and interpersonal abilities
  • Ability to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and POS systems
  • Must be able to handle stressful situations calmly and effectively
  • Certifications such as Food Handlers, Alcohol Awareness, CPR and First Aid preferred and/or required
  • Availability to work as required to fulfill job responsibilities
  • Ability to maintain professional appearance and adhere to company dress code
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
  • Commitment to maintaining high standards of guest service.

Job Qualifications

  • At least 5 years of progressive experience in a hotel or related field
  • Or a 2-year college degree and 3 or more years of related experience
  • Or a 4-year college degree and at least 1 year of related experience
  • Proficient in Windows operating systems, company approved spreadsheets and word processing
  • Supervisory experience required
  • Ability to convey information and ideas clearly
  • Ability to evaluate and select among alternative courses of action quickly and accurately
  • Ability to work well in stressful, high pressure situations
  • Ability to maintain composure and objectivity under pressure
  • Effectiveness in handling workplace problems including anticipating, preventing, identifying and solving issues
  • Ability to assimilate complex information from disparate sources and adapt to meet needs
  • Effectiveness at listening to, understanding, clarifying and resolving concerns raised by coworkers and guests
  • Ability to work with and understand financial information and basic arithmetic functions.

Job Duties

  • Approach all encounters with guests and employees in an attentive, friendly, courteous and service-oriented manner
  • Maintain regular attendance in compliance with company standards as required by scheduling
  • Maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming including wearing proper uniform and name tag
  • Comply at all times with company standards and regulations for safe and efficient hotel operations
  • Ensure training of all Food and Beverage/Banquet personnel using effective training steps
  • Maintain follow-through of all guest requests, problems, complaints and accidents in F&B areas
  • Motivate, coach, counsel and discipline F&B personnel according to company SOPs
  • Review F&B staff’s worked hours for payroll compilation and submit timely to Accounting
  • Attend weekly staff meetings and provide training on a rotational basis
  • Prepare and conduct all F&B interviews and follow hiring procedures
  • Prepare employee shift schedule according to forecast, budget and productivity requirements
  • Conduct all 90 day and annual employee performance appraisals according to company SOPs
  • Assist in developing and ensuring implementation of Food and Beverage promotional ideas
  • Ensure all beverage costs are maintained to meet budget
  • Focus the F&B Department on contributing to guest service scores
  • Maintain company SOPs regarding purchase orders, invoicing and accounting
  • Develop, initiate, and promote sales including upselling programs
  • Participate in required MOD coverage as scheduled
  • Complete all F&B forecasting and budgeting in a timely manner
  • Ensure F&B employees are attentive, friendly and courteous at all times
  • Maintain quarterly equipment inventory and purchase planning
  • Maintain professional working relationships and promote communication with all departments
  • Oversee Banquet operations
  • Use POS system to print and analyze reports
  • Complete monthly menu analysis and submit to Corporate
  • Monitor Food and Beverage cash overages and shortages
  • Maintain organized filing system for purchases, schedules, forecasts, reports and logs
  • Attend monthly all-employee meetings
  • Perform POS changes in menus or server assignments
  • Maintain required stock pars
  • Review food sales daily for accuracy
  • Perform other duties as requested by General Manager.
