Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED certificate or equivalent
  • Four or more years of experience in industrial, commercial, or institutional food service or patient tray service including at least one year in a lead or supervisory role
  • Associate degree in food service management, nutritional care, or related field with supervisory experience
  • Bachelor's degree with major coursework in restaurant or hotel management or closely related field
  • Valid driver’s license for employees driving on state business
  • Liability insurance for employees driving privately owned vehicles on state business
  • Willingness to undergo background check including criminal record history

Job Qualifications

  • Four or more years of experience in industrial, commercial, or institutional food service or patient tray service including at least one year in a lead or supervisory role
  • High school diploma or GED certificate or equivalent
  • Associate degree in food service management, nutritional care, or related field with at least one year of food service supervisory experience
  • Bachelor's degree with major coursework in restaurant or hotel management or closely related field
  • Strong knowledge of food service safety and sanitation
  • Proven leadership and team supervision skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to adapt to changing circumstances and solve problems
  • Experience in accurate record-keeping and documentation

Job Duties

  • Supervise, train, and assign staff and resident workers in daily food production
  • Maintain order and discipline including intervening during emergencies using approved techniques
  • Oversee kitchen operations in the absence of management including meal preparation, loading, and documentation
  • Ensure timely food cart deliveries
  • Ensure compliance with sanitation, safety, and equipment usage standards
  • Address supply needs and manage inventory
  • Coordinate and adjust menus to address food shortages, staffing issues, and residents’ special dietary needs
  • Conduct daily meetings and complete staff and resident evaluations
  • Manage leave schedules with Food Manager approval
  • Handle inquiries related to resident meals, special diets, and events
  • Perform administrative tasks including completing daily forms and maintaining records
