Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Valid New Mexico Class D Driver's License
- Ability to pass county paid pre-employment physical and drug/alcohol screening
- Ability to pass county paid criminal background check
- Ability to occasionally lift up to 50 pounds
- Ability to stand, walk, sit, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, climb, balance, talk, hear, taste and smell as required
- Willingness to work irregular, extended, weekend, holiday, or evening hours
- Ability to use protective clothing and equipment
- Commitment to upholding ethics in client services
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Valid New Mexico Class D Driver's License with a clean driving record
- Defensive driving certification or ability to obtain
- Experience in driving and transporting elderly or disabled clients preferred
- Basic knowledge of vehicle maintenance and safety regulations
- Effective communication skills
- Ability to maintain food handling safety standards
- Ability to work with seniors and handle difficult clients with empathy
- Ability to prepare logs and reports
- Ability to speak Spanish preferred
Job Duties
- Transport home delivered meals to client residences
- Provide transportation to senior citizens for appointments, activities, and vacations
- Assist senior citizens and ADA clients entering and exiting vehicles, including securing oxygen tanks, groceries, furniture, and wheelchairs
- Maintain vehicle cleanliness and safety according to county policies and regulations
- Fuel, wash, clean, and perform basic maintenance on vehicles
- Report any vehicle mechanical issues, damage, or accidents to supervisor immediately
- Assist Cook in kitchen and dining area cleaning and meal packaging
- Conduct basic welfare checks of clients and report concerns to Senior Services staff
