Job Description

Santa Fe County Community Services Department is seeking a dedicated and compassionate individual to join their Senior Programs Division as a full-time Home Delivered Meals Driver. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma, GED or Bronze level ACT WorkKeys National Career Readiness Certificate
  • Experience in driving or transportation preferred
  • Must complete Defensive Driving training within three months of hire
  • Must obtain CPR and First Aid certification within three months of hire
  • Must obtain training in proper procedures for lifting and moving senior citizens and ADA clients within three months of hire
  • Must obtain a Food Handler's certification card within 30 days of employment
  • Must possess and maintain a valid New Mexico Class D Driver's License
  • Must pass County paid pre-employment physical, drug/alcohol screening, and criminal background screening

Job Qualifications

  • Experience in driving or transportation preferred
  • Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of staff and the public
  • Ability to follow verbal and written instructions
  • Defensive driving skills
  • Knowledge of safe food handling techniques
  • CPR and First Aid certification within three months of hire
  • Food Handler's certification within 30 days of employment
  • Ability to speak Spanish preferred

Job Duties

  • Transports home delivered meals to client residences
  • Provides transportation to senior citizens for appointments, activities, and vacations
  • Assists senior citizens and ADA clients with loading and unloading of oxygen, groceries, furniture, wheelchairs, and other supplies
  • Maintains vehicle in a safe and clean condition including fueling, washing, cleaning, and basic maintenance
  • Assists Cook in cleaning kitchen and dining areas and packaging meals
  • Conducts basic welfare checks of clients and reports concerns to Senior Services staff
  • Completes daily vehicle inspections and reports mechanical or structural issues immediately
