Job Requirements

  • Ability to read and write in English fluently
  • Ability to communicate effectively with staff, physicians, vendors, and others
  • Ability to tolerate extreme weather conditions for prolonged periods
  • Ability to respond to auditory stimulation like pages and telephones
  • Physical ability to bend, lift 10-50 lbs, grasp, push, pull, and maintain a Commercial Driver's License
  • Ability to sit and stand for prolonged periods
  • Ability to climb stairs, bend, stoop, kneel, walk on uneven surfaces
  • Ability to carry up to 25 lbs and generate 50 lbs of force when pushing or pulling
  • Ability to handle exposure to infectious organisms, agents, and toxic chemicals
  • Clean driver’s record without revoked or suspended license
  • No multiple insurance violations or DUI/DWI convictions
  • No more than two at-fault accidents and three moving violations in the past three years

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Current valid Texas Driver’s License
  • Current valid Texas Commercial Driver’s License
  • Preferred experience driving 20+ passenger shuttle bus (1-2 years)
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to remain calm under stress
  • Ability to evaluate and interpret information and make independent decisions

Job Duties

  • Provide transportation for employees, students, faculty, and physicians by driving designated campus shuttle routes
  • Maintain shuttle vehicle cleanliness and ensure proper fuel supply
  • Complete all necessary shuttle usage summaries and reports as required
  • Respond safely, effectively, and efficiently to all transportation-related matters
  • Assist with additional transportation or security duties as assigned under general supervision
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company driving policies
  • Monitor shuttle conditions and report maintenance needs promptly
