Job Requirements

  • Must be 21 years of age or older
  • Valid driver’s license (Class D or above) with excellent driving record
  • Ability to obtain and maintain Medical Examiner Card (MED)
  • Six months or more driving and route management experience preferred
  • Ability to read and speak English sufficiently for traffic signs and official communications
  • Ability to follow safety regulations and company policies
  • Ability to operate vehicles equipped with ELD and GPS
  • Must pass relevant background and medical screenings as required
  • Commitment to providing high-level customer service
  • Willingness to work early shift starting at 3:00 am and a 4-day 10-hour workweek

Job Qualifications

  • Preferred high school education or equivalent
  • Over six months of experience, preferably in driving shred/box trucks and route management
  • Valid standard driver's license (Class D or above) with an excellent driving record
  • Ability to obtain and retain a valid Medical Examiner Card (MED)
  • Ability to read and speak English sufficiently to understand highway traffic signs and respond to official inquiries
  • Strong customer service and communication skills
  • Familiarity with electronic logging devices and GPS systems
  • Understanding of federal, state, and local waste transportation regulations

Job Duties

  • Manages assigned routes ensuring customers' waste is picked up in a safe, timely, and accurate manner
  • Pick up and transport waste safely according to all federal, state, and local rules and regulations
  • Plans daily schedule based on customers' needs by reviewing daily paperwork
  • Follows routing software route schedule
  • Prepares and loads trucks to service select accounts, ensuring enough supplies are added
  • Unloads trucks at Stericycle and customer sites, securing waste
  • Ensures customers have packaged waste according to regulations before transporting
  • Provides the highest level of customer service and communicates issues to supervisors
  • Secures waste, supplies, and equipment prior to vehicle operation
  • Completes assigned paperwork legibly, accurately, and completely
  • Completes DOT Driver Log if applicable
  • Communicates route changes and customer issues to supervisors
  • Reports problems before the close of business
  • Performs pre-trip and post-trip maintenance on trucks
  • Reports maintenance problems
  • Uses ELD and Geotab to log hours in accordance with DOT guidelines
  • Performs other duties as needed
