Job Requirements
- Must be 21 years or older
- valid driver’s license (Class D or higher) with clean driving record
- ability to obtain and retain Medical Examiner Card
- 6+ months relevant driving and route experience
- ability to read, write, and speak English sufficiently for job duties
- ready to work variable schedules including early morning starts and occasional Saturdays
- ability to perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections
- capable of loading and unloading trucks safely
- pass background and driving record checks
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- valid standard driver’s license (Class D or above) with excellent driving record
- 6+ months of driving and route management experience, preferably with shred/box trucks
- ability to obtain and maintain a valid Medical Examiner Card (MED)
- strong communication skills and ability to read and understand English traffic signs and regulations
- commitment to safety and compliance
- experience using routing software and electronic logging devices
- ability to provide exceptional customer service
Job Duties
- Manage assigned routes ensuring safe, timely, and accurate waste pickup
- pick up and transport waste in compliance with federal, state, and local regulations
- plan daily schedules based on customers' needs using provided manifests and routing software
- prepare and load trucks with necessary supplies
- unload trucks at Stericycle and customer sites securing waste loads
- verify customers’ waste packaging meets regulatory standards before transport
- provide high-level customer service, communicating any route or service issues to supervisors
- complete and return required paperwork and DOT logs accurately
- perform pre-trip and post-trip truck maintenance and report any issues
- use electronic logging device and GPS for compliance
- communicate changes or problems with transportation supervisors
- ensure coverage drivers are informed of unusual situations
