Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Minimum six months driving experience, ideally in route management
  • Must be 21 years or older
  • Valid driver’s license Class D or higher
  • Ability to obtain and maintain valid Medical Examiner Card
  • Ability to read and speak English sufficiently for traffic compliance and communication
  • Clean driving record
  • Physical ability to perform duties including loading and unloading waste and operating a vehicle for extended periods

Job Qualifications

  • Preferred education in high school or equivalent
  • Six months or more experience in driving shred/box trucks and route management preferred
  • Must be 21 years or older
  • Valid standard driver’s license Class D or above with an excellent driving record
  • Ability to obtain and retain a valid Medical Examiner Card
  • Proficiency in English sufficient to understand traffic signs, respond to inquiries, and complete work-related documentation

Job Duties

  • Manages assigned routes ensuring customers' waste is picked up in a safe, timely, and accurate manner
  • Pick up and transport waste safely according to all federal, state, and local rules and regulations
  • Plans daily schedule based on customers' needs by reviewing daily paperwork such as manifest, route sheets, and previous VCR
  • Follows routing software route schedule
  • Prepares and loads trucks to service select accounts ensuring enough supplies are added
  • Unloads trucks at Stericycle and customer sites securing waste
  • Ensures customers have packaged waste according to all applicable regulations before transporting
  • Provides the highest level of customer service daily, communicating issues to supervisors or dispatcher
  • Completes DOT driver logs and required paperwork accurately
  • Performs pre-trip and post-trip maintenance and reports any issues
  • Uses ELD and GPS technologies to log hours and ensure safety
  • Reports route or service problems before the end of the day
  • Communicates route changes, customer status, or operational concerns with relevant personnel
  • Ensures handover of information to substitute drivers for continuity
