Job Requirements

  • Must be age 21 or older
  • Valid driver’s license with excellent driving record
  • 3+ years of driving experience preferably with Shred Trucks and Box Trucks
  • Ability to obtain medical card from certified medical examiner
  • Must comply with all federal, state, and local regulations regarding waste transport
  • Ability to read, speak, and understand English sufficiently for traffic signs and official communication
  • Willingness to undergo mandatory immunizations and credentialing based on customer requirements
  • Ability to perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections
  • Capable of responding to customer inquiries professionally
  • Must maintain security of confidential materials
  • Stericycle welcomes non-native English speakers meeting communication requirements
  • Ability to operate company equipment safely
  • Must be able to complete required paperwork accurately and timely.

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • 3+ years of driving experience, preferably in driving Shred Trucks and Box Trucks
  • Current driver's license with an excellent driving record
  • Must be age 21 or older
  • Ability to obtain medical card by certified medical examiner
  • Ability to read and speak English sufficiently to understand highway traffic signs, respond to official inquiries, and complete federal reports
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Ability to perform route planning and manage vehicle inspections
  • Knowledge of safety protocols and federal, state, and local regulations for waste transport
  • Competence in operating company equipment safely and efficiently.

Job Duties

  • Performs onsite or offsite document destruction of confidential information or pick up and transport medical waste
  • Pick up and transport waste safely according to all federal, state, and local rules and regulations
  • Plans daily schedule based on customers' needs by reviewing daily paperwork such as manifest, route sheets, and previous VCR provided by the Transportation Manager, Supervisor or Dispatcher
  • May prepare and load trucks to service select accounts ensuring enough supplies are added
  • Pick up specified waste from each customer site scheduled for the day ensuring packaging and preparation compliance
  • Provide the highest level of customer service to assigned accounts daily, communicating issues to Transportation Manager, Supervisor or Dispatcher
  • Performs pre-trip and post-trip vehicle checks and driver check-in on assigned truck
  • Reports maintenance problems to Transportation or Dispatcher for follow-up
  • Operates company equipment safely and efficiently to minimize injury and equipment damage risks
  • Complies with all laws governing driver fitness and hours of service
  • Completes assigned paperwork accurately and returns it to the supervisor
  • Ensures DOT Driver Log is completed if applicable
  • Maintains security when emptying consoles and collection totes, ensuring all documents are retrieved and containers locked
  • Communicates route changes, address changes, or customer issues with Supervisor or Dispatcher and reports problems before end of day
  • Manages assigned routes ensuring timely and accurate material collection
  • Handles customer problems and inquiries promptly
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
