Job Requirements
- Must be 21 years or older
- no reckless driving in the past 7 years
- no DUI or DWI convictions
- no more than 3 moving violations or accidents within last 3 years
- no history of violent criminal convictions
- if license was revoked, must have 3 full subsequent years post reinstatement with no violations
- possess valid authorization to work in the State of California and the United States
- must be able to pass DOT physical and pre-employment drug screening
- must pass criminal background check and Motor Vehicle Record check
- ability to use tablet, GPS, two-way radio, or other electronic device
- ability to maintain high level of confidentiality
- ability to adhere to RABA’s Operator dress code
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent
- valid U.S. driver’s license for the past 3 years
- valid Class B-P driver’s license issued by the State of California or ability to obtain
- ability to communicate with others and comprehend instructions
- ability to understand highway traffic signs, signals, maps, manifests, and schedules
- ability to obtain knowledge of FTA, ADA, and DOT regulations
- familiarity with main roadways and major highways in the service area
- ability to read and speak the English language sufficiently
- ability to be certified in First Aid, AED, and CPR
- ability to obtain the General Public Paratransit Vehicle Certification (GPPV)
- complete verification of Transit Training (VTT)
- register with California DMV Employer Pull Notice (EPN) program before operating any RABA vehicle
Job Duties
- Provide safe and reliable transportation
- demonstrate excellent defensive driving skills
- provide excellent customer service to both internal and external stakeholders
- assist with passenger loading and unloading from vehicle
- assist with any mobility device and securement as required for safety protocols
- ensure the on-time pick-up and drop off of the customer
- demonstrate understanding and sensitivity to the needs of older adults and individuals with disabilities
- complete thorough vehicle pre-trip, post-trip, and DVI inspections as required
- complete paperwork as required
- utilize tablets or electronic devices as required
