Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- one or more years relevant work experience in behavioral facility preferred
- valid and in good standing state driver's license
- CPR and de-escalation certification may be required
- first aid may be required based on state or facility requirements

Job Duties
- Drive company vehicles to transport clients for admissions, appointments, activity trips, discharges, and other special events in a punctual and timely manner
- pick up or transport visitors or staff as needed
- assure that all passengers are wearing seatbelts before the vehicle is started
- maintain a constant awareness and supervision of clients while transporting them
- comply with all company safety policies and practices and alleviate any safety issue by resolving or by notifying appropriate persons for assistance as necessary
- serve as a positive role model for clients and peers providing examples of appropriate behaviors, effective communication, and conflict resolution
- encourage open, honest communication to facilitate problem solving on the unit, during transport, and when attending off unit activities
- chart in client records as appropriate and/or assigned
- provide a verbal report/briefing to the oncoming shift
- respond and adhere to "on call" schedule as required
- accurately and appropriately complete all transportation documentation
- maintain vehicle log(s) and report maintenance issues to appropriate facility staff
- ensure all company vehicles are kept clean and functional
- maintain vehicles in safe condition and keep record of vehicle maintenance
- respond to units to assist in behavioral events when needed
- drive company facility vehicle to pick-up supplies or equipment, as needed
