Job Requirements

  • Minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent
  • Must possess a valid Class A Commercial Driver's License
  • HazMat, Tanker, and Doubles endorsements preferred
  • Must be 25 years or older
  • Minimum of two years consecutive driving experience
  • Must be registered with FMCSA Drug and Alcohol Clearinghouse
  • Must have an acceptable motor vehicle record
  • Must be able to pass a road test
  • Must be able to lift and/or move at least 70 pounds
  • Must be able to work under tight time constraints
  • Must demonstrate ability to operate manual transmission and perform safety functions like chaining tires
  • Must be able to safely drive tractor-trailers under DOT regulations
  • Must be eligible to work in the United States
  • Must pass drug screening and background checks
  • EFW will not sponsor employment authorization for this position

  • Must be registered with FMCSA Drug and Alcohol Clearinghouse
  • Must be able to drive tractor-trailers conforming to FMCSA requirements
  • Must be capable of dropping, hooking, and coupling trailers
  • Must have an acceptable MVR
  • Must be familiar with state motor vehicle laws and FMCSA regulations
  • Must pass a road test
  • Must be able to operate all safety and operational functions of equipment including chaining tires and manual transmissions
  • Ability to read and interpret general business documents
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
  • Ability to solve practical problems and follow detailed procedures
  • Ability to operate forklifts and pallet jacks
  • Must be eligible to work in the United States
  • Must pass a drug screen and background check

Job Duties

  • Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure safe working conditions of the tractor and trailer before and after trips
  • Verify vehicle documentation including VIN numbers to match pickup and delivery requests
  • Check gauges and visual indicators for malfunctions and inspect vehicles during trips
  • Comply with all safety and legal requirements for transportation of hazardous materials
  • Operate all types of equipment safely including manual transmission and perform tasks such as chaining tires
  • Follow federal, state, and local laws including FMCSA regulations concerning run times and driver safety
  • Maintain records required by compliance regulations and ensure security of equipment and cargo
  • Report all maintenance issues promptly to Fleet Services
  • Verify unit numbers versus paperwork and report discrepancies
  • Use in-cab technology including electronic logs as required
  • Drive various schedules and assist with dock work including loading and unloading
  • Operate forklifts and pallet jacks when necessary
  • Provide professional and courteous service to customers and the public
  • Comply with company C-TPAT and TSA security procedures
  • Perform other duties as assigned
