Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- valid California driver's license with 2 points or less
- Class C commercial license with passenger endorsement or willingness to obtain within three months
- excellent communication and customer service skills
- ability to safely handle luggage weighing up to 50 lbs
- no use of handheld phones or texting while driving
- ability to drive multiple types of vehicles including buses and disabled vans
- adherence to company safety and health policies
- willingness to comply with scheduling and transportation duties
- punctuality and dependability
- physical fitness for handling luggage
- knowledge of Pebble Beach Company culture and standards
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- excellent communication and customer service skills
- Class C commercial license with passenger endorsement or ability to obtain within three months of hire
- valid California driver’s license with 2 points or less
- ability to handle and lift heavy luggage safely
- experience in guest services or hospitality preferred
- knowledge of local area and driving routes beneficial
- ability to maintain professionalism and confidentiality
- strong interpersonal skills
- willingness to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays
Job Duties
- Be courteous, respectful and pleasant to all guests
- report guest issues/incidents immediately at next stop
- keep all vehicles fueled
- transport guests to and from Spanish Bay, The Lodge, Casa Palmero and Beach Club properties in 8 one-hour loops, including 10 stops per loop or 80 stops per day
- transport guests to off-site destinations including Monterey Peninsula Airport, local restaurants, San Jose and San Francisco
- assist guests with storage, loading, unloading and safe handling of luggage and golf clubs
- handle at a minimum 25 pieces of luggage/bags per day weighing 25-50 lbs each
- greet guests with a sincere smile and proper salutation
- use guest names and recognize return guests when possible
- answer guest questions and provide information on daily resort activities
- inspect vehicles for cleaning, maintenance and safety issues during each sign-out and report deficiencies
- avoid use of handheld phones or other communication devices while driving
- pick up, carry and properly store golf clubs
- transport packages and materials between properties upon request
- sign in at location log sheets and follow instructions for pickups and drop offs
- drive within legal and company speed limits along prescribed routes
- inform guests of stops and driver's intentions
- adhere strictly to guest pickup/drop-off schedules
- respond promptly to communications from dispatch and management
- never leave keys in unattended vehicles
- assist guest services department including porter, valet and concierge duties as needed
- drive autos, vans, SUVs, buses (13-25 passenger) and disabled vans
- know, model and integrate Pebble Beach Company culture and comply with safety and health policies
