Job Requirements

  • Valid Class A commercial driver's license
  • Valid medical examiner's card
  • Hazmat and airbrake certifications
  • At least one year of Class A professional driving experience within the last five years with a clean driving record or equivalent educational experience
  • Must be at least 21 years old
  • Ability to read and comprehend material safety data sheets
  • Physical ability to lift 25 to 75 pounds routinely and occasionally over 125 pounds with aid of material handling equipment
  • Ability to drive hazardous cargo for up to 8 hours
  • Ability to work independently and under pressure to meet deadlines
  • Must obtain forklift operator certification

Job Qualifications

  • Minimum one year of Class A professional driving experience within the last five years or equivalent educational experience
  • Ability to read and comprehend material safety data sheets
  • Ability to lift 25 to 75 pounds routinely and up to over 125 pounds with equipment assistance
  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
  • Must be able to obtain forklift operator certification

Job Duties

  • Safely load, deliver, and unload cylinders containing compressed gases to both external and internal customer locations
  • Accurately record deliveries and pick-ups on a load manifest, obtaining customer signatures
  • Collect empty, rejected, or unsold cylinders and return them to a plant or branch for refilling
  • Adhere to all Airgas safety standards and government regulations including DOT, EPA, FMCSA, FDA and OSHA
  • Provide assistance in the warehouse or on the dock as needed
  • Drive a company-provided straight or box truck equipped with safety technology
  • Interact professionally with customers during deliveries and pickups
