Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Valid CDL A license
- Minimum 2 years of CDL A driving experience within the last 4 years
- Meet Department of Transportation (D.O.T.) qualification requirements
- Ability to pass drug and alcohol screening
- Physical capacity to lift up to 50 pounds and carry freight up to 125 pounds
- Ability to climb in and out of tractor-trailer multiple times daily
- Ability to perform pre-trip and preventative maintenance inspections
- Ability to work in various weather conditions
- Eligibility to obtain a TWIC card within 90 days if required
- Good communication skills
- Detail-oriented
Job Qualifications
- Hold CDL A license
- Have a minimum of 2 years CDL A driving experience within the last 4 years
- Meet D.O.T. qualification requirements under FMCSR 391.41
- Experience in load securement, route planning, and navigating various road conditions
- Exceptional customer service skills and ability to handle sensitive cargo with care
- Detail-oriented mindset
- Possess or be eligible to obtain a TWIC card within 90 days if required
Job Duties
- Drive semi-tractor/trailers for up to 11 hours after 10 hours off-duty on runs of up to one week or more
- P&D locally
- Back trailers to customer dock
- Maintain compliance with federal and state safety regulations and professional driving behavior
- Communicate efficiently and respectfully with customer representatives
- Coordinate with dispatchers effectively
- Comply with all DOT requirements including drug and alcohol testing
- Secure cargo and arrange it properly within the vehicle
- Ensure vehicle mechanical issues are corrected before driving
- Apply tire chains in inclement weather when required
- Swing and secure trailer doors
- Perform other duties as required
