Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- CDL A license
- Minimum of 2 years commercial driving experience within last 4 years
- Meet Department of Transportation (D.O.T.) qualification requirements
- Ability to pass drug and alcohol testing
- Physical ability to handle freight and perform vehicle inspections
- TWIC card or eligibility to obtain one within 90 days if applicable
- Ability to operate semi-tractor/trailer vehicles safely
- Valid driver’s license
- Ability to communicate effectively with customers and dispatchers
Job Qualifications
- CDL A license required
- A minimum of 2 years CDL A driving experience within the last 4 years
- 3+ years CDL A driving experience preferred
- Meet D.O.T. qualification requirements, FMCSR 391.41
- Experience in load securement, route planning, and navigating various road conditions
- Exceptional customer service skills and the ability to handle sensitive cargo with care
- Detail-oriented mindset required
- Must have a TWIC or eligible to obtain a TWIC card within 90 days, if required
Job Duties
- Drive semi-tractor/trailers for up to 11 hours after 10 hours off-duty on runs of up to one week or more
- P&D locally
- Back trailers to customer dock
- Maintain compliance with Federal and State safety regulations and safe and professional driving behavior
- Communicate with customer representatives in pleasant, respectful, and efficient manner
- Communicate and coordinate with dispatchers
- Comply with all DOT requirements including drug and alcohol testing
- Secure cargo and properly arrange and balance it within the vehicle
- Ensure that any mechanical issues with the vehicle are corrected before driving
- Apply tire chains in inclement weather when required
- Swing and secure trailer doors
- Perform other duties as required
