Job Requirements
- High school level of knowledge
- valid commercial driver’s license (CDL)
- good driving record
- ability to read, write, understand and speak English
- manual and motor skills to operate CDL rated vehicles
- analytical skills to read maps and determine driving routes
- physical ability to maneuver wheeled carts and operate power lift gates
- ability to perform basic arithmetic calculations
- ability to work in varying weather conditions
- ability to stand, walk, lift and push materials
- compliance with federal motor carrier safety regulations
- willingness to attend mandatory safety and training sessions
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- valid commercial driver’s license (CDL)
- three to six months of related or on-the-job experience
- good driving record
- ability to read road maps and determine shortest driving routes
- strong interpersonal and communication skills
- ability to perform basic arithmetic calculations
Job Duties
- Makes pickups and deliveries at affiliate sites
- loads and unloads clean and soiled textiles, materials and supplies
- ensures all deliveries are signed for by site receiving area or unit
- washes interior of vehicle after unloading soiled loads prior to loading clean loads
- ensures truck is loaded properly and load is secured
- prepares and submits daily driver’s vehicle inspection report
- ensures vehicles are fueled and tires correctly inflated at start of shift
- schedules vehicle maintenance and reports mechanical problems
- provides training and orientation for new drivers
- completes accident reports and insurance forms as required
- attends annual safety management education and training
- participates in quality improvement activities
- performs additional assigned duties such as Laundry Aide when not driving
- operates vehicles safely and follows department policies
