Job Requirements

  • Valid commercial driver's license (CDL) per assigned vehicle type
  • Minimum two years of commercial driving experience
  • High school diploma or GED preferred
  • Successful completion of road test
  • Meet company insurability standards
  • Ability to meet FMCSA drug and alcohol clearinghouse requirements
  • Ability to meet all driver qualification requirements per 49 CFR part 391
  • Ability to meet Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) quality criteria per federal regulations and company policy
  • No drug violations within last five years
  • Proof of certified SAP program completion for violations over five years old
  • Basic knowledge of commercial vehicle laws and regulations
  • Ability to read and follow written instructions
  • Basic arithmetic and measurement skills
  • Strong interpersonal and decision-making skills

Job Qualifications

  • Two years of commercial driving experience with relevant cargo preferred
  • High school diploma or GED preferred
  • Valid commercial driver's license (CDL) per assigned vehicle type required
  • Successful completion of a road test required
  • Ability to meet company insurability standards
  • Ability to meet FMCSA drug and alcohol clearinghouse requirements
  • Ability to meet all driver qualification requirements per 49 CFR part 391
  • Ability to meet current Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) quality criteria as defined by federal regulations or company policy
  • No drug violations during the previous five years and proof of certified SAP program completion for older violations
  • Basic knowledge of laws, government regulations, and agency rules related to commercial vehicle operations
  • Ability to read and comprehend written instructions as applied to work
  • Basic measurement and arithmetic skills required
  • Ability to develop and maintain good working relationships with supervisors, co-workers, and customers
  • Ability to make sound decisions based on knowledge, experience, and judgment

Job Duties

  • Operate commercial vehicles with gross vehicle weight rating over 26,001 lbs to deliver or pick up merchandise
  • Drive and perform safety activities on motor vehicles 10,000 pounds or less as required
  • Follow safety procedures for transporting goods including securement of cargo with tarps
  • Maneuver trucks into loading or unloading positions safely
  • Load and unload vehicles as required
  • Perform daily vehicle inspections as defined by the FMCSA to ensure roadworthiness
  • Record inspection information or defects on the Daily Vehicle Inspection Report (DVIR)
  • Use electronic logging device (ELD) to log daily activities as required by FMCSA
  • Report traffic incidents including accidents, violations, or vehicle damage to supervisors
  • Read bills of lading and manifests to determine assignment details
  • Check load-related documentation for completeness and accuracy
  • Obtain receipts or signatures for delivered goods or collect payments when required
  • Adhere to safety processes and protocols at all times
