Job Requirements

  • At least 21 years of age
  • Maintain a current valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
  • CPR certification and annual driver education
  • Ability to operate a chair lift and secure regular and mechanical wheelchairs and scooters
  • Comply with all community procedures and safety regulations
  • Complete and pass drug and alcohol screenings and background checks
  • Ability to work semi-independently without direct supervision
  • Demonstrate responsible decision-making in resident care
  • Complete all required training including safety and regulatory courses

Job Qualifications

  • Maintain a current applicable driver’s license with an acceptable driving record
  • Possess CPR certification and complete annual driver education
  • Knowledge of safety precautions and compliance with safety procedures
  • Ability to operate chair lifts and secure wheelchairs and scooters
  • Minimum age of 21 years
  • Effective communication skills both written and verbal
  • Competent organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to work semi-independently and demonstrate initiative

Job Duties

  • Provide transportation services for residents
  • Assist residents with any special needs during transportation such as carrying packages opening doors and helping in and out of the vehicle
  • Maintain focus on driving at all times and direct passenger interactions to onboard support staff
  • Do not use a personal cell phone while driving
  • Provide miscellaneous pickup and delivery services as needed
  • Perform monthly and pre-trip vehicle inspections and maintain cleanliness and safety equipment
  • Report any resident changes in condition to the Assisted Living Coordinator or Reminiscence Coordinator
