Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum of 2 years commercial driving experience
  • Valid commercial driver's license (CDL)
  • Must pass drug and alcohol screening
  • Ability to operate tractor-trailers safely
  • Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
  • Ability to work extended periods of driving
  • Good physical condition and ability to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Excellent attendance record
  • Ability to follow safety and company policies
  • Must be available to work weekends and overtime

Job Duties

  • Inspect trailers and record any identified defects
  • Provide support to Shipping department with loading and unloading process of trailers and arrange trailers to maximize the yard space
  • Check trailers prior to pulling away from the dock doors
  • Follow all safety company policies and procedures, including maintaining good housekeeping, immediately reporting any issues, accidents or incidents
  • Complete online safety training each month as assigned
  • Work outdoors in varying weather conditions
  • Operate tractor-trailer in various driving environments and weather conditions between company facilities
  • Drive for extended periods of time
  • Maintain truck electronic logging device logs according to state and federal regulations
  • Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of tractor/trailer and when stopped en route
  • Drop and hook trailer and change equipment configurations as necessary
