Job Requirements

  • high school diploma or equivalent
  • one to two years of driving experience
  • friendly, outgoing and courteous customer service demeanor
  • a sense of urgency in meeting critical and time sensitive deadlines with the ability to work with limited supervision
  • must have a valid standard class d license or local state equivalent
  • available to work long shifts and saturdays
  • basic english speaking proficiency
  • a combination of the above will also be considered

Job Duties

  • perform all pre-trip responsibilities to include checking route numbers and account numbers for assigned deliveries
  • perform necessary vehicle safety inspections for vehicle
  • drive and deliver customer orders according to predetermined route
  • ensure vehicle is properly secured during drop-offs
  • load and unload products from vehicle using dolly or other appropriate devices safely
  • verify delivery of items with customer and obtain proper signatures confirming receipt of product
  • contact management to discuss issues or concerns as they arise throughout the work day
  • perform all post-delivery actions, including unloading damaged product, customer returns, and complete any necessary documents
  • follow department of transportation (dot) and hazard analysis critical control point (haccp) regulations during the operation of the truck and handling of product
  • develop and maintain high levels of customer satisfaction and goodwill by providing professional assistance and by demonstrating an interest in the customer’s needs
  • report any complaints to supervisor
  • collect money from customers and properly record transactions on company documentation, including invoices
  • ensure that payment (cash, checks, etc.) are properly secured
  • ensure that safety training is current as per company policy
  • support the fleet manager by ensuring that vehicles are maintained according to schedule and records are current and correct
  • other duties as assigned by supervisor
